Earth’s Hydrosphere is a Life

 

             Hydrosphere is a vast sphere of water in the Earth that covered with 70% water. It considered as the Earth's water budget that is about 97% saltwater and the 3% is freshwater. It includes all the Earth’s water found in oceans, streams, lakes, in the soil, groundwater, and in the air.

           

            

            Hydrosphere is the home for many plants and animals. All the living things depend on water. Plants need water in order to grow, all the animals living in the water needs it for shelter and food, and man needs water as a source for foods, use for cleaning, for cooking, for drinking and for man’s survival.

           

          

           Scientists say that the sea is the place where life began. Without the sea, the life that is known today would not exist. It acts as a great heat reservoir, leveling the temperature extremes. The water body in the oceans absorbs a large amount of solar radiation. Because the water in the oceans move up and down and from one place to other, it result in transfer of heat from one place to other and it have a fundamental influence on various components of water and energy balance of land and oceans. This distribution of water creates and maintains the climate and weather conditions in different regions of the Earth. The ocean provides the least expensive form of transportation known to man. It is the major source of food and major potential source of protein minerals, and power, all of which are required in ever-increasing quantities by all industrial societies. Energy can be extracted from the tides of the ocean. Ocean water is processed to extract commercially valuable minerals such as salt, bromine, and magnesium. In a few arid regions of the world, such as Ascension Island, Kuwait, and Israel, ocean water is desalinated to produce freshwater.

           Rivers have been very useful to men; they provide water to slake the thirst of men, to fertilize their lands and to provide a means of communication for the goods that transport from place to place.  With the transport of goods and the contacts of people between different parts of the same river, there were also many cultural exchanges. Thus, rivers helped to spread civilization. The moving water has a force or energy which may be harnessed for useful purposes. There are several forms of water power currently in use. One of these is the hydropower that is used for irrigation.

             

           Water is very important to all. It is essential to life, without it humans will die. Let’s not abuse the gift of God to us. Protect it so that the next generation can use it.

The Progress of Science and Technology

        As time goes by, many scientist and inventors study and discover things to meet the needs of the people, and science and technology is helping each other to make it possible. The principles that were developed in science were applied to technology. This development can be a services, inventions and products such as soaps, shampoos, insecticides and fungicides. And as the scientist and inventors study more about things around us, they can make their inventions better and more useful, these are called the innovations which are more faster and easy to use and to operate by the people.

 

        Today, many things that manufactured and developed through science and technology could be seen anywhere. The impacts of these things were very visible in the daily lives of the humans. From the kitchen, the chef, the cookers, and all of the mothers are using different appliances in cooking foods and they are also using different tools in preparing foods such as knife, plates and bowls. When going to schools, offices or going anywhere, different vehicles are use like cars, jeepneys, tricycles, airplanes, ships and even bicycles. When making assignments or homeworks, computers are use to make a research in the internet. It also changed the kind and the style of how people wear their clothes. And when communicating to others, cellphones and internet are use.

       The progress of science and technology also has the corresponding positive and negative effects to human life. It helps the work of humans to be done faster because it decreased the manual work of humans, it help the people to communicate to each other especially when there is an emergency, and it also increased the productivity of the country because of using technology in the agriculture. Science and technology produced the medicines which help in curing different diseases of the human because of that it help the people to live longer here on earth. And in transportation, it made the lives of the people more comfortable such that they can travel faster through the use of vehicles. All of these are the advantages of science and technology that people got from them. But there are also disadvantages in using of all of these things. It increased the anxiety of the lives of the people. Because of inventions, humans work can be done faster, this is the reason of the increased of unemployment of the country. When people abused these things, there is a result of water and air pollution due to the waste of the factories that go to the rivers and seas, and due to the smokes of the factories and all of the vehicles, and due to the burning of fossil fuels. It also increased the opportunities of terrorists in the country that may result to the danger of the lives of the humans. It also made the planet earth a trash can of all the garbage that people thrown every day. And the most negative effect of the science and technology is that, it made the people lazy and irresponsible.

        

 

 

 

 

 

 

              Science and technology helps people a lot. But people must be more responsible and more careful in using of all of these. People should not abuse the advantages that science and technology give to them because it may lead to the destruction of our planet earth and to the human life.
